Sony Xperia Z Vs Samsung Galaxy S3

Samsung Galaxy S was the most popular handset of 2012 and this year, Sony Xperia Z came to compete with this world famous android smart phone. Today, my intention is to provide you a comparative analysis of both smartphones. Are you ready to enjoy the fight of two big android guys?

Sony Xperia Z Vs Samsung Galaxy S3

Display

If you don’t mind to get a big screen then your preference would be Sony Xperia Z that comes with a 5 inch display. As far as Galaxy S3 is concerned, you find a 4.8 inch display. There is a little difference between the dimensions of both handset. It’s good to know that Galaxy S3 is a lighter handset as compare to Xperia Z.

Design

Sony designed Xperia Z with a waterproof body. This IP57 certified body allows the users to use this smart device easily. Although design of Samsung Galaxy S3 is quite attractive but the body of handset is made up of plastic, so you need to protect handset from water and dust.

Specs

Third installment of Galaxy S series gets power from a 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad, an own- brand quad-core processor and comes with 1GB of RAM. While that of Xperia Z is powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro; this is the same processor which is being used by Google Nexus 4. There is 2GB of RAM which makes Sony big guy an attractive model for the users. As far as storage is concerned, Samsung has more options (16GB, 32GB and 64GB) in comparison with Xperia Z that brings only 16GB model.

Camera

Last year, we enjoyed HD videos and images of Galaxy S3 smartphone’s 8MP camera but this time, we will have to think ahead as Xperia Z comes with 13MP snapper. You can record full HD 1080p quality video with both cameras but it is Sony Exmor RS sensor that allows you to get the better results. In addition, you can enjoy 1080p video calling experience with Sony device’s 2.2 MP front facing camera and this experience would be definitely better than a call which you make with the 1.9Mp front camera of Galaxy S3.

Software and Battery

Both handset are running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean , there is no difference between both in software regard. As you know, 2100mAh removable battery of Galaxy S3 last after 7.3 hours while Xperia Z has a larger battery 2330mAh non-removable battery.. At this time, we don’t know how long this battery will work after charging as Xperia Z is not available for use right now.

After checking this comparative review of Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S3, you will come to a result that Sony has designed a better handset. Although Galaxy S3 comes with impressive features but Samsung has to make some changes into Galaxy S4 if it wants to compete well with Sony latest Xperia model.
